Assignment 1 - Elements of Composition

Assignment Description: For this assignment we had to use elements of composition in our pictures. We  learned about the different types of cameras and their lenses and how each works. We learned about the first six elements of composition (rule of thirds, patterns, symmetry, texture, depth of field, lines) and had to incorporate them into our photos. Then we learned five more elements of composition (framing, perspective, space, balance, color) and also incorporated them into our photos.

Photo Description:
rule of thirds- light switch
patterns- row of lockers
symmetry- carpet
texture- wall
depth of field- locker
lines- hallway
framing- bottom of chairs
perspective- locker from bottom
balance- wall and elevator
color- tree painting

What I learned: I liked being able to find all the elements of composition around the school. I struggled with being able to find color around the school. I also had trouble with finding the perfect angle for taking the photos. I learned that you can find great photos in places you wouldn't expect would make good photos.
